By transforming Saccharum munja—an indigenous grass traditionally used in Pakistani craft, into a high-performance textile reinforcement fiber, this project merges raw material science with contemporary design. Through rigorous retting extraction, submicroscopic analysis, and natural antibacterial testing, the wild fiber was engineered into a sustainable, woven medium.

The resulting Munj Light Fixtures translate this technical material discovery into striking, eco-friendly lighting solutions for non-apparel applications. The collection proves that indigenous plant fibers can seamlessly elevate modern interiors, beautifully balancing commercial visual appeal with environmental responsibility.
