Service Design In Practice

A service design project exploring how design can respond to human needs, behaviours and social contexts. Through research, observation and collaborative methods, the project investigates how services can be made more thoughtful, inclusive and meaningful for the people who use them.

Planting a learning adventure

An interdisciplinary metadesign and service design project developed in collaboration with Naturskola Visseltofta and Osby Municipality, Sweden. The project explored how nature-based education can support children’s learning and strengthen outdoor teaching practices. Through community engagement, stakeholder collaboration, workshops, and co-design, we developed a nature-inspired curriculum concept that encourages children to learn through exploration, participation, and direct interaction with their surroundings. The project applied service design methods to understand the needs of the educational community, design with local stakeholders, and explore how new activities and learning experiences could become part of a broader outdoor education service.

A Failed Fika

What if failure became a space for learning rather than something to avoid?

A Failed Fika was a participatory experience exploring how we understand success, failure, and productivity. Inspired by Jack Halberstam’s The Queer Art of Failure, we reimagined the familiar Swedish fika as a staged space for critical reflection and collective learning. Through service design and pedagogical staging, passers-by were invited to question their assumptions about failure through conversation, interaction, and play.
